Fashion Figures

I’ve literally been drawing fashion illustrations and clothes since I was 9. My dream then was to become a fashion designer, and although that hasn’t happened yet, I’m still so enamored by fashion. It’s something I still continue to enjoy as a hobby, and has heavily influenced my work and art.

I consume fashion in so many ways. Besides shopping for myself, I love browsing, following fashion week, and picking TV shows and movies to watch based on wardrobe styling (Little Women was my most recent favorite!). Every time awards season comes around I watch purely for the fashion and glamour. I devour those behind the scenes videos of how red carpet looks start from an idea and manifest into an elaborate work of art hand-crafted with love by artisans and designers.

Drawing dresses is my way of honoring these designers, acknowledging fashion, style, and craftsmanship. When I draw something I get to pause and truly study what I’m drawing, and translate the movement and beauty of the fabric into an illustration that I get to take ownership in.

I feel like these dresses are a part of me when I draw them.

On Unfinished Work

These were some illustrations I drew this past weekend. But many more illustrations to come! I’m trying to publish more of my unfinished art, because I miss sharing tidbits on Instagram. Hopefully this’ll motivate me to make art and explore my curiosity without feeling like I need to finish an entire collection, and start small.

Last but not least, can you name who these celebrities are?
