A medley of creative endeavors
Trained in fine art and architecture, creative arts has always made its way into everything I do. I draw, paint, sketch, and experiment with mixed media work. I also dabble in digital illustration and animation.
FLOWER GIRL SERIES
Art & Illustration
The Flower Girl Series is a personal passion project made for Instagram. Inspired by whimsical summer flowers and color-changing fall foliage, I played with the idea of nature-inspired gowns, giving life to fashion illustrations. Illustrations for personal use and work using vector drawing and a graphics tablet. I simulated various styles of drawing using digital brushstrokes such as watercolor, graphite pencil, acrylic paint, and ink marker. See more work on my Dribbble page.
MAURA FOX ENCAUSTIC ART WEBSITE
Working with encaustic painter Maura Fox, I revamped her portfolio website and blog, www.mfoxpaints.com, taking photos of her artwork to create a gallery archive of paintings and descriptions.
SECOND CHANCE SUPERHERO
Video Production & Filmmaking
Working with classmates from Cal Poly's ISLA 341 Storytelling class, I worked on the production, cinematography, and editing of this short film we made for Poly Cuts Film Festival 2017.
Second Chance Superhero is the story of a young ex-con who finds a new sense of purpose when his parole officer sets him up with a new job.
Architectural Design and Video Production
The Vellum Furniture Competition is a design competition and exhibition at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I designed and constructed the Copper Pipe Chair, and filmed a short video showing the process. Read more about the project here.
"COMPOSE VS COMPRISE"
Stop Motion Animation
I produced, filmed, and edited a stop motion video explaining a "common confusable," the words compose versus comprise, using paper cutouts as engaging visuals. This video was made for Dictionary.com. Click on screencap to watch the video.
remembering vista grande
While working as the in-house photographer for Cal Poly Corporation, I documented the retirement party of one of Campus Dining's beloved venues. I got to direct, film, and edit this mini documentary.
Advertisement & Photography
Personal ads for my sister's high school volleyball yearbook pages.
Combining my love for photography, graphic design, and portraiture, I experimented with mixed digital media. Shown here is a double exposure photo and a vectorized graphic.
