Darin at the Beach
Last month during my weekend trip to SLO, I spent an evening with my silly, gorgeous friend Darin. We twirled our way around Avila Beach as the sun set over the horizon.
Glad we got to go out and enjoy a breath of fresh air in this coastal town I have near and dear to my heart. I wasn’t planning on publishing these photos because this shoot wasn’t really thought-out, but I think these easy, breezy portraits capture light-hearted Darin much better than the last time we planned a shoot. Sometimes simple is best.

Ultimately it’s the fine art work I’m drawn to. It’s portraiture, natural expression, the female form, shapes, earth’s elements, and movement.
This past surprisingly sunny weekend in San Francisco, I got to test shoot with Sarah, who recently signed with Nomad Management in LA.
The air was cool and breezy, a refreshing break from the historical San Francisco June gloom. With a bag full of leotards and fabrics, we were ready to play.
Inspired by Herb Ritts, I went to Coney Island with model and dancer Anica, and played around with chiffon, the sand, and the water.
Reflectors are coming with me to every photoshoot from now on...now where do I order a walking reflector holder?
I love photographing well-dressed friends and capturing their contagious restless energy in one of the most unique and gorgeous natural settings on the Central Coast.
There's something so feminine and powerful about the way they move their bodies, and the way a dress reciprocates their every step, every leap, every twirl.
Pregnancy is a magical moment in your life when you discover the extent of womanhood, something that connects you to all the generations before you. Depicting the essence of maternity had to be done against the backdrop of the natural landscape.
