It was another Friday afternoon indoors and Southern California summer was calling. We needed to escape. Donning flowy new dresses we rarely have the chance to wear out, we loaded the car and karaoke-ed our way through traffic to discover Hermosa Beach. Just south of Manhattan Beach and off the Pacific Coast Highway, the beachfront welcomed us with last glimmering moments of light, setting the scene for a perfect little shoot along the sea.
Ultimately it’s the fine art work I’m drawn to. It’s portraiture, natural expression, the female form, shapes, earth’s elements, and movement.
This past surprisingly sunny weekend in San Francisco, I got to test shoot with Sarah, who recently signed with Nomad Management in LA.
The air was cool and breezy, a refreshing break from the historical San Francisco June gloom. With a bag full of leotards and fabrics, we were ready to play.
The pastoral and rural charm of the North Shore with its white-sand beaches and roadside vendors, coupled with the capital city of Honolulu bursting with insanely good food and history, unite to form this magical vacation destination full of palm trees and every island dream you could imagine.
