Thanks to Canon I finally got to upgrade my lens after 4 years. Now I own all three versions of my favorite 50mm and can finally shoot wide open again! Excited (but also so nervous to hold so much $ worth of gear in one hand), I ran over to Gia’s place to test it out.
Still slowly trying to build my “studio” (just a janky piece of cloth at this point, really), I’m learning to how better control natural light. Shaping light with flags is giving me those beautiful shadows that start to mimic the look of studio lighting.
The styling ended up being 90s pop star-inspired with Winona Ryder vibes. Miss those days. Thanks, Gia, for humoring me!
