December Thoughts
I love traveling but I hate being away from loved ones. Spending four months on the other side of the world teaches you to cherish every minute you spent with friends and family and to realize those precious moments don't come easy.
You also learn to make new friends. At first not everyone you meet will be your cup of tea, but you can't give up on them. People are multi-faceted, and you have to find their good qualities. Amplify what makes them wonderful and appreciate them.
"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people." - Eleanor Roosevelt
Not everything can be documented in photos. The taste of gelato on a hot summer day, the crazy bicycling incident, the feel of the Mediterranean Sea, the butterflies in your stomach, the brief but interesting exchanges with locals, and the messy parts in life...occurrences like these can only be felt in the moment and logged into your memory bank to become stories to tell. And surprisingly, the things that go unphotographed are the things I remember best.
The thrill of amassing cute clothes on my own dime was addicting. I overconsumed, convinced I was winning because I saved so much money.
Trusting my body, becoming a mother, and rebuilding myself during a long, transformative year.
I insisted on directing and editing my own wedding film, and one year later, it’s finally done.
Pregnancy is a magical moment in your life when you discover the extent of womanhood, something that connects you to all the generations before you. Depicting the essence of maternity had to be done against the backdrop of the natural landscape.
This website has seen all the twists and turns of my career, mirroring my journey in all its messy splendor. I’m proud of that.
I’ve been working and grinding so much in life that it’s surreal to be like oh… I’m here, I’ve arrived.
Grateful to be at an age where my beliefs are more steady than they’ve ever been, shaped by my own lived experiences rather than outside influence.
Spending time with a baby is the perfect antidote to all this AI addiction.
